Variety reports that the stage and screen star will complete filming on "The Good Shepherd," which is being directed for Universal and Morgan Creek by Robert DeNiro. Crudup will then begin shooting a role in "Mission: Impossible 3," which began filming last month under the direction of J.J. Abrams.
Starring Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Keri Russell, "Mission: Impossible 3" is set for a May 2, 2006, release. Crudup will also be seen in "Trust the Man," which will be presented at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival. "Man" co-stars Julianne Moore and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Billy Crudup has been seen on Broadway in Arcadia, Bus Stop, Three Sisters, The Elephant Man and The Pillowman. He received Tony Award nominations for his work in the latter two and a Theatre World Award for his debut in Arcadia. Among his numerous screen credits are "Stage Beauty," "Big Fish," "Almost Famous," "Waking the Dead," "Jesus' Son," "Without Limits," "Grind," "Inventing the Abbotts," "Everyone Says I Love You" and "Sleepers."
