News Pittsburgh Public Has American Premiere of Ayckbourn's RolePlay; Pappas Announces Cast Rehearsals began Aug. 30 for the American premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's comedy RolePlay at Pittsburgh Public Theater.

Artistic and executive director Ted Pappas is staging the production at PPT's O'Reilly Theater. Performances play Sept. 22-Oct. 23.

The cast includes Brian Hutchison, Tressa Glover, Meredith Zinner, Mark Mineart, Ross Bickell, Cynthia Darlow and Jane Summerhays.

In the play by the prolific British author of By Jeeves, How the Other Half Loves, Absurd Person Singular, House and Garden, "Justin (played by Hutchison) and Julie-Ann (played by Tressa Glover) are attempting to throw a nice, civilized dinner party where their parents can meet each other and they can announce their engagement," according to PPT notes. "But when a scantily-clad damsel in distress climbs in through their window seeking refuge from her gangster boyfriend, it's just the beginning of a downhill tumble for the once simple family dinner."

Pappas' creative team includes scenic designer James Noone, costume designer Martha Louise Bromelmeier, lighting designer Kirk Bookman And sound designer Zach Moore.
