The Play What I Wrote, by (and with Eddie Braben) and starring The Right Size — Sean Foley and Hamish McColl — was a huge success at Wyndham's when it first opened last year.

A tribute to the television shows of Morecambe and Wise, The Play What I Wrote was not only very funny, with a mixture of physical comedy and witty one-liners, but, like Morecambe and Wise, had the added attraction of a string of surprise guest celebrities.

The show, produced by David Pugh, is expected to have a Broadway season in the spring of 2003, so the revival at Wyndham's (scene of Pugh's first major hit, Yasmina Reza's Art) will help get the play back and running prior to New York. It will open in October and run through May.

The Play What I Wrote opened last year to one of the smallest box-office advances in West End history: Audience reaction and newspaper reviews, however, turned it into one of the West End's most profitable shows.
