Playbill Announces Tony-Winning Talent for Broadway on the Rhine River | Playbill

Playbill Travel Playbill Announces Tony-Winning Talent for Broadway on the Rhine River Who joins Faith Prince and Andréa Burns as they set sail from Switzerland to the Netherlands with Playbill Travel August 2017?

In response to Playbill Travel’s sold-out Rhône River cruise setting sail in May, we’ve packed another spectacular itinerary for the upcoming Rhine River cruise August 12–20, 2017.

As we float down the Rhine River from Basel, Switzerland, through the lush greenery of Germany to colorful Amsterdam, our fantastic lineup of talent will keep you smiling and singing. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure of picturesque destinations, melodious concerts, and unprecedented access to our stars.

For the Rhine River, we welcome the incomparable Faith Prince. A Tony Award winner (and four time nominee), Faith is best known for her Adelaide in the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls opposite Nathan Lane. A legend in her own right, Faith has graced the Broadway stage in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, The King and I, Bells Are Ringing, A Catered Affair, and, most recently, Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick’s Disaster!. While she joined Playbill as an ambassador on BOHS7, Faith will bring the full power of her talent to the river boat with a solo show and the full warmth of her heart to all who meet her.

She is joined by another Jerome Robbins’ Broadway alum: Terrence Mann. A three-time Tony nominee, Terrence has originated some of the most iconic roles in musical theatre, including Rum Tum Tugger in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, Javert in Les Misérables, and the Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. More recently, he has originated the roles of Mal Beineke in The Addams Family and The Man in the Yellow Suit in 2016’s Tuck Everlasting. His impressive résumé includes leading roles in Broadway’s Finding Neverland, the 2013 revival of Pippin (for which he won the Outer Critics Circle Award), The Rocky Horror Show, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Barnum, and more.

His wife, performer Charlotte d'Amboise, will also bring her talents to the S.S. Antoinette. Charlotte has appeared in 16 Broadway shows, and is one of the great dancers of the Great White Way. A two-time Tony nominee for Jerome Robbins’ Broadway and A Chorus Line, Charlotte has also graced the Broadway stage in Carrie, Damn Yankees, Contact, Chicago, and Pippin, for which she won an Astaire Award.

Drama Desk Award winner Andréa Burns comes aboard the river cruise, too. Having completed a successful run as Gloria Fajardo (Gloria Estefan’s mother) in the hit musical On Your Feet!, Andréa is excited for this European adventure—as she played Maria in a European tour of West Side Story early in her career. You may also know Andréa for her charismatic performance as the original Daniela in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights.

New to our Playbill Travel family, Santino Fontana rounds out our talent lineup for August. Santino is one of Broadway’s foremost leading men, and his numerous recognizable roles in film and television have cemented him as a formidable screen talent. He is a Tony nominee for his performance as Topher (aka Prince Charming) in Broadway’s Cinderella and most recently starred in God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater and 1776 as part of New York City Center’s Encores! Series to rave reviews. He portrayed Moss Hart in Lincoln Center’s production of Act One and, in 2012, won every major Off-Broadway theatre award for his performance in Sons of the Prophet. On screen, he is perhaps best known as the voice of Prince Hans in Disney’s Frozen and as Greg in the musical comedy television series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Of course, leading our band of fantastic performers is music director and Chatterbox host Seth Rudetsky. The afternoon host for Sirius XM’s On Broadway and host of Seth Speaks, Seth is one of the most influential personalities on Broadway. Seth has played for over a dozen shows on the Great White Way, including Ragtime and Phantom of the Opera. In 2016, Seth’s original musical Disaster! bowed on Broadway as a New York Times Critics’ Pick.

We are thrilled to have this stellar lineup join us for what will be a hugely enjoyable week of breathtaking scenery and spectacular Broadway entertainment on the famed Rhine River. For those who can’t join us in August, our third river cruise of 2017 sails down the Danube River November 3–13, with top Broadway talent to be announced.
