When struggling theatre artists ask my advice on the best way to garner publicity for their shows, I always say, "Send art; you're much more likely to be listed or reviewed if you enclose a photograph." In the future, I guess I should amend that tip to "send good art." Every day, we here at Playbill On-Line receive production photographs that are visually gripping, evocative, theatrical and professionally rendered. And, then, we receive others that, well, aren't. Following is Playbill On-Line's first annual batch of Goofy Production Photos, a world of giant lizards and bunnies, bagel kings and prosthetic chins, and many, many grimacing faces. Throughout the year, these photos kept up gaping in wonder and delight -- but, mainly wonder.
