"There is no reason why any of these tunes should have been in Rock of Ages, but having come of age (fancy way of saying 'started doing it') in the 80s, they are the songs that strike me right in the heart — and groin area — whenever I hear them," said Adam Dannheisser, who plays Dennis in Rock of Ages.

Here, Playbill.com asked Rockwell, Dannheisser, Genson Blimline (Lonny), Justin Matthew Sargent (Drew) and Joey Calveri (Stacee Jaxx) to pick their favorite 1980s classic rock hits that are not featured in the Broadway musical — but could be — and why they made the list.

The musical comedy Rock of Ages borrows rock hits of the 1980s to tell the story of showbiz lovers in L.A. The score includes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don't Stop Believin'" and more.

The musical, which was nominated for five 2009 Tony Awards, is written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine.

Kate Rockwell: "Alone" by Heart. Because I cannot get enough belting my face off to this song — in the shower, or to my poor dog. I love the wailing!

Kate Rockwell: "Livin' On a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Best. Bar song. Ever. Have you EVER not been happy when that song came on? It's even funny when people can't hit the notes — that's how you know it's a winner.

Kate Rockwell: "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield. This would be tricky to put into Rock of Ages since there's no Jessie....but even just thinking about this song gets my toes tapping.

Genson Blimline: "Eruption" by Eddie Van Halen. When it comes to rock, for me it's pretty simple — shredding guitars and men who sing like women. So my first choice of tunes I would love to see pulled from the Rock of Ages cutting room floor is "Eruption" by the one and only Eddie Van Halen. It fired me up when I was a youngster and it still does today. I may or may not listen to it before almost every audition.

Genson Blimline: "I Remember You" by Skid Row. Second, I am going with "I Remember You" by Skid Row. Sebastian Bach is a golden haired vocal Thor, plus whenever I hear that song it brings back all my teenage angst, which never gets old.

Genson Blimline: "Purple Rain" by Prince. Finally I am going to go with "Purple Rain" by Prince. To me, he was a man who combined the things I love about rock. He was an amazing guitarist, an amazing vocalist, and when I first heard of him I thought he was a pirate. What more does one need?

Justin Sargent: "Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns N' Roses. This song actually kicks off our "intermission mix" for the audience, which starts right after the end of the first act. The audience usually cheers and then there's a moment of disappointment when they realize it won't be in the show. No G'n'R?! COME ON!!

Justin Sargent: "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" by Aerosmith. The first time I saw Rock of Ages, seeing the girls in "Final Countdown" with high heels, stockings and power tools instantly reminded me of the beginning of this music video with the hot chick and the jackhammer. *gulp* …If [the character of] Candi had a solo in the show, this is the one for her. Ya feel me, Josie Roberts??

Justin Sargent: "Faithfully" by Journey. I know we're already bursting at the seams with Journey songs, but this one is just so sweet and beautiful. A GREAT love song.

Adam Dannheisser: "Friends and Lovers" by Gloria Loring and Carl Anderson Duet. Best worst love song ever. Ever… But so true. And smooth. Could have been called "Friends with Benefits" or "F*** Buddies." Remember that night in the community college parking lot? Damn security guards. First time I ever drove naked. First time. Great night.

Adam Dannheisser: "Part Time Lover" by Stevie Wonder. Do I detect a theme starting to emerge? No!! This one was about betrayal. Oh, Betrayal, You Unkind Mistress! I took to my bed for a week. Or, like, at least a long weekend.

Adam Dannheisser: "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. And, finally, a nod to the oft-maligned (and rightly so) Canadians among us… Perfect rock sway song. Prom. Fully clothed. For the dance portion of the evening. Sweet Kristin T. My friend, my lover, my hell, my heaven.

Joey Calveri: "On the Outside" by Oingo Boingo. I grew up more in the new wave scene of the 80s. I was a pretty big outcast when I was a kid. This was Danny Elfman's band and, of course, it was very theatrical.

Joey Calveri: "People Who Died" by Jim Carroll Band. He has always been one of my favorite poets, and I love punk rock. My rebellious jump-around-my-room song.

Joey Calveri: "Hands to Heaven" by Breathe. I was an overly romantic kid in junior high. Staying up late and thinking of that girl who didn't know you existed and this song would come up on the FM radio.
