Playbill is planning to launch a new record label to preserve and celebrate the best of show music past -- and we'd like your help in assembling our catalogue.

We are looking to bring existing theatre-related material back into print, perhaps in new configurations. We will not, at present, be recording new material ourselves. Please also don't suggest Carrie.

Please DO give us ideas for the following types of albums that you would like to hear, that you would buy for yourself and your friends:

* Existing original cast albums that you'd like to see brought back into print.

* Existing specialty, studio, concert or personality albums you'd like to see brought back into print. * New compilation albums on a theatrical theme.

* New compilation albums devoted to the work of a past or current composer, lyricist, star or other theatre personality.

* Anything else you think you'd love to hear.

Playbill has several such albums already in the works, and intend to release the first in 1997. We welcome your input.

To give us your suggestions, e-mail them to Playbill On-Line managing editor Robert Viagas
