PlayBlog Playbill Video Hits the Red Carpet With the Stars of Follies on Opening Night (Video) James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical Follies opened in May at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in DC. Following a successful run, the star-studded production made the transfer to Broadway and officially opened Sept. 12 at the Marquis Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Here, Playbill Video caught up with the stars following their Broadway opening.

The cast is lead by two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters (Sally Durant Plummer), four-time Tony nominee Jan Maxwell (Phyllis Rogers Stone), two-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (Buddy Plummer) and three-time Emmy Award nominee Ron Raines (Benjamin Stone). The Follies stars chatted about taking on the iconic piece, working with Sondheim, the show's composer, and making the transfer from DC to Broadway.

Directed by Eric Schaeffer (Putting It Together, Million Dollar Quartet) and featuring choreography by Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow), Follies also features Olivier Award winner Elaine Paige as Carlotta Campion, Rosalind Elias as Heidi Schiller, Colleen Fitzpatrick as Dee Dee West, Michael Hayes as Roscoe, Tony nominee Jayne Houdyshell as Hattie Walker, Florence Lacey as Sandra Crane, Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil as Solange LaFitte, David Sabin as Dimitri Weismann, Frederick Strother as Max Deems, Terri White as Stella Deems, Christian Delcroix as Young Buddy, Nick Verina as Young Ben, Lora Lee Gayer as Young Sally, Kirsten Scott as Young Phyllis and Leah Horowitz as Young Heidi.
