A Tony winner for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her work in The Book of Mormon, Nikki M. James was inspired to collect some tunes and hit the stage at Joe's Pub after realizing that she had not sung other songs during her three-year stint in the show. In this exclusive peek at sound check for her Oct. 21 performance, James previewed tunes made famous by the likes of Bon Jovi and the Ben Folds Five, as well as a new tune dedicated to the sisterhood of Best Featured Actresses. Neil Patrick Harris and Magicians Derek DelGaudio and Helder Guimarães Have Nothing to Hide

Neil Patrick Harris directs Nothing to Hide, a theatrical magic show featuring magicians Derek Delgaudio and Helder Guimarães. A fan of magic from a young age, Harris first saw the duo perform together at Los Angeles' Magic Castle where he was impressed enough to helm their show through an extended run at the Geffen Playhouse. Based on sleight of hand card tricks, Nothing to Hide seeks to ask larger questions about the "real life" magic found around us all every day. The Off-Broadway run began Oct. 23. The Touring Company of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess Previews the Classic Show

The national touring company of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess prepared to head out on the road by offering a special press preview. Stars Alicia Hall Moran (Bess), Nathaniel Stampley (Porgy) and Kingsley Leggs (Sportin' Life) led the company through "Summertime," "I Got Plenty of Nothing" and "It Ain't Necessarily So." The production will begin previews Nov. 10 and officially open in San Francisco Nov. 13. Additional cities on the tour include Los Angeles, Seattle, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Naples, Greenville, Cleveland, Tempe and St. Paul. Read the Playbill story.

Montego Glover Gets Ready to "Sing Sing Swing" With the New York Pops

Tony nominee Montego Glover performed with the New York Pops on Nov. 1 in "Sing Sing Swing," a tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's live recording at Carnegie Hall. Playbill caught up with Glover in rehearsals, where she sang a preview of two songs accompanied by rehearsal pianist Anthony DeAngelis.
