Eden Espinosa

Full given name: Eden Erica Espinosa
Hometown: Anaheim Hills, California
Audition song: The last time I had to bring my own song in for an audition I used "Someone Else's Story" from Chess
Special skills: Pretty good Britney Spears singing impression
First Broadway show ever saw: I saw Les Mis in Los Angeles when I was younger. But the first show I saw on Broadway was Rent.
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Dreamgirls
Current show you have been recommending to friends: In the Heights
Favorite show tune: "Unexpected Song" by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Most played song on your iPod: "I Know You By Heart," Eva Cassidy
Last book you read: "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert
Must-see TV show: "Lost"
Last good movie you saw: "Iron Man"
Favorite board/card game: I love this card game called PHASE 10. During Brooklyn the Musical, Ramona Keller, Karen Olivo, her husband Matt Caplan and I used to have tournaments! FUN FUN FUN! But I'll give you a run for your money while playing Scattergories or Taboo.
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Betty Buckley (I've never seen her perform, but I just saw her in a movie and I need to see more of her. She stole the whole movie and she only had like 2 or 3 scenes.)
Pop culture guilty pleasure: I admit I am a trash TV junkie. My top 3 TV guilty pleasures are "American Idol," "So You Think You Can Dance" and "America's Next Top Model." But I also love "Top Chef" and "Project Runway." WOW, too many!!!!!
First stage kiss: Mark Hewitt in high school. We were Maria and Tony in West Side Story.
Favorite post-show meal: I try to keep it light with hummus and carrots, or soup. I have been known to grab a slice from Ray's though....heehee.
How you got your Equity card: Brooklyn the Musical workshop in 2002
Worst onstage mishap: Well, I haven't had that many mishaps happen to me (knock on wood). But the most memorable is during the first year of Wicked, when I was the standby. Norbert swung in on the rope in the fallen house scene in Act 2, delivered his line...."Let the green girl go!" But he stayed on one knee and tried to get up while keeping his legs together because he had split his pants from one end of the seam to the other. Kristin, Norbert, all the guards, the audience and myself were in hysterics. Good times! (sorry norb!)
Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition? Mia Alverez opposite Jesse L. Martin; it was my first television job, and I was nervous. But I knew Jesse from recording the Bright Lights, Big City cast recording, and he made me feel at ease and so comfortable. Thanks Jesse :0)
Worst costume ever: I worked on a cruise ship for two months as a singer/dancer. The worst costume was in the "LOVE" medley, and I had to come out in this showgirl costume with an enormous headdress made out of red, pink, and white long boas. Then they connected to a heart that lit up and I wore it on my back. HUMILIATING!!! Worse than at Disneyland when I had to wear a cake on my head for "Be Our Guest!"
Cats or dogs? Dogs!!!!! I couldn't live without my little guy!
Favorite cereal: Healthy - Smart Start; kids - Captain Crunch
Who would play you in the movie? I can't think of anyone dorky enough to play me......
TV or commercial gig you most enjoyed: Playing Elphaba on "Ugly Betty" was so fun! It was an 18-hour day on our day off but worth every minute.
Leading lady role you've been dying to play: Eva Peron in Evita
