Jennifer Simard

Full given name:
Jennifer Jean Simard
Hometown: Litchfield, New Hampshire
Zodiac sign: Leo
Special skills: The ability to never get tired of reruns. "The Golden Girls," "Roseanne," the umpteenth "Law & Order" viewing.
First Broadway show ever saw: Arsenic and Old Lace
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Abbott & Costello in The Streets of Paris, 1939.
Favorite show tune: This is like a asking parent who their favorite child is. One of my favorites: "Being Alive."
Most played song on your iPod: A "voice memo'd" song I am learning for a project.
One CD you couldn't live without: I couldn't live without my sounds of nature CD that helps me sleep. Except the "heartbeat" noise. Terrifying. It's like there's a stranger in your bedroom. Just standing there. Waiting.
Last book you read: Oh God this is embarrassing: I am currently reading the "Murder She Wrote" mystery series written by Donald Bain & "Jessica Fletcher." The last one I completed was "Manhattans & Murder," and now I am halfway through "Dying to Retire."
Must-see TV show: The yet-to-be-created "Mo Rocca" vehicle. This man must have his own show. It is my mission.
Last good movie you saw: My husband and I just rewatched "His Girl Friday." Such a great film.
Favorite board/card game: Card game "Oh Hell!"
Performer you would drop everything to go see: The late great Madeline Kahn.
Pop culture guilty pleasure: "Project Runway," "Top Chef," "America's Next Top Model," "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency," "I Love New York," "The Girls Next Door." Release the guilt...you'll feel better.
First stage kiss: in Neil Simon's Plaza Suite.
Favorite pre-show meal: My current favorite is the Waldorf salad from Thalia on W. 50th Street. I'm obsessed with it.
How you got your Equity card: Forbidden Broadway. Thank you Gerard Alessandrini.
Worst onstage mishap: I was doing the song "He Called Me" from I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and there is a point at the end of the song where I say "Ken, you're calling again just to say Hi?" (PAUSE) "He's needy." After this, my pals Danny Burstein and Rob Roznowski had to pick me up and put me on their shoulders. Well one night, in that pause, I farted. Loudly. The audience laughed, and the three of us laughed when we simultaneously realized that my ass was about to be next to their faces.
Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition? I played Danielle Andreas in the "Law & Order" season 16 finale episode.
Worst costume ever: The tan pants. My friends involved will know. I was in a show where I had to play many characters, and the costume designer had me in the same tan pants for every part. Didn't matter if I was playing a 10-year-old or a 40-year-old....there they were....the tan pants.
Cats or dogs? Both, but I own a beautiful cat. A "dog-cat" really, that runs to the door when I get home.
Favorite cereal: Kashi
Who would play you in the movie? Drew Barrymore.
Worst job you ever had: I worked in a mailroom with a nun.
What's the dramatic role you've been dying to play? Fosca in Passion.
