Brent Barrett

Barrett has appeared on Broadway as Diesel in West Side Story, Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, Charles Castleton in Dance a Little Closer, Felix Von Gaigern in Grand Hotel, Maximilian in Candide and Billy Flynn in Chicago.

Other theatre credits include Busker Alley with Tommy Tune, Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Time of the Cuckoo, Portrait of Jenny and two years playing the lead role in Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular.

He has performed with the Boston Pops, Minnesota Opera, Opera Pacific, Michigan Opera and Birmingham Symphony and recorded three solo albums: "The Alan Jay Lerner Album," "The Kander and Ebb Album" and "Christmas Mornings."

When you first realized you could sing: I was about 5 years old and my cousin Victoria, who was 20, made me stand by the piano and sing while she played.
First stage kiss: I think it was in a high school production of Lock Stock and Lipstick.
How you got your Equity card: Summer stock at Civic Light Opera in Pittsburgh. I was in the chorus for two summers.
Favorite pre-/post- show meal: Grey Goose, chilled, with olives and the raw seafood platter at Thalia. Post-show of course.

Most vocally challenging role you have ever played: Closer Than Ever was a vocal marathon.
Worst job you ever had: The best and worst job I ever had was working on Wagons Ho vacations. During the day I drove the "Green Palace," which was a plywood outhouse on wheels. The job involved a shovel, rubber gloves and gallons of Pine Sol But at night I played my guitar and sang songs around the campfire.

Leading man role you've been dying to play: Harold Hill in The Music Man
Leading lady role you wish you could play: Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes
Career you would want if not a performer: Spoiled trust fund baby
