The New York Times reports that Draper will replace Dana Reeve, who left the production last month. As previously reported, Reeve departed the play for personal reasons after her husband, the actor and activist Christopher Reeve, died Oct. 10 at the age of 52.

Draper will play Nina in the Margulies opus, which will be directed by Daniel Sullivan. Brooklyn Boy officially opens on Broadway Feb. 3.

Brooklyn Boy follows the tale of a marginal writer (Adam Arkin) who is finally garnering success while his life is otherwise faltering: his marriage is on the rocks, his father is in the hospital, his aunt is pestering him and Hollywood is calling.

Draper has appeared Off-Broadway in the premieres of Four Dogs and a Bone by John Patrick Shanley, Blur by Melanie Marnich and Trudy Blue by Marsha Norman, and Crazy He Calls Me and Closer on Broadway. Most recently, she has put in stints in The Guys (also at the Flea) and The Exonerated. Also a playwright, Draper's Getting Into Heaven played the Flea Theatre. She also scripted the 1998 film "The Tic Code," in which she starred. Draper may be best known, however, for her work on TV's "thirtysomething."
