According to the Huffington Post, Lewis will be seen in the third episode of the upcoming second season of the series from creator Shonda Rhimes.

Series regular Bellamy Young (The Life), who plays Mellie Gant, said, "[Lewis is] coming to do an incredible arc, like Kerry's character's ex-boyfriend kind of thing ... juicy wonderment. I can't wait for that."

Here's how ABC describes the series: "Everyone has a secret... and Olivia Pope has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation's elite and keeping those secrets under wraps. Revered and feared at the same time, Olivia, a former communications director to the President of the United States, left the White House to open her own prominent crisis management firm. She is hoping to start a new chapter in her life—both professionally and personally—but she can't seem to completely cut ties with her past. Slowly it becomes apparent that her dysfunctional staff, who specialize in fixing other people's lives, can't quite fix the ones closest at hand-their own."

The series' second season is currently in production in Los Angeles. Broadway's Porgy and Bess is scheduled to end its limited engagement at the Richard Rodgers Theatre Sept. 23.

Lewis will also be part of Playbill's third Broadway on the High Seas cruise, which sets sail Aug. 4, 2013, from Stockholm, Sweden.

Lewis has also been seen on Broadway in Sondheim on Sondheim, The Little Mermaid, Les Miserables, Amour, The Wild Party, Side Show, Chicago, The Who's Tommy and Miss Saigon.

The second season of "Scandal" premieres Sept. 27 at 10 PM ET on ABC.
