News Portland Theatre Community to Stage Readings to Help Pay Founder's Medical Bills Members of the Portland theatre community will perform readings of the plays Keith Powell Beyland, founder of Dramatic Repertory Company, chose for its season in order to help pay Beyland's medical bills; readings will be held Nov. 5-7 at Portland Stage Company. Beyland suffered a stroke Sept. 26.

The Portland Press Herald reports that DRC's season is currently on hold, but actor Peter Brown has organized staged readings of Venus in Fur, Cock and Quills to be performed at Portland Stage Company.

Beyland is currently receiving care at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Portland, ME.
