In recent weeks Disney announced that Mary Poppins would end its nearly six and a half-year Broadway run on March 3 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The theatre's next tenant will likely be a new stage production based on the Disney animated feature Aladdin.

Last summer Tuacahn staged an earlier incarnation of Disney's two-act stage adaptation of Aladdin, which first premiered in Seattle in 2011. Tuacahn also staged the first post-Broadway regional productions of Disney's Tarzan and The Little Mermaid.

Mary Poppins will begin performances June 1, according to a casting notice, with Starlight Express to follow on June 8, and Thoroughly Modern Millie to begin July 13.

Scott S. Anderson will direct Mary Poppins. Broadway Mary Poppins cast member Rommy Sandhu will choreograph.

A separate, Canadian regional production of Mary Poppins will debut at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge in March.

The Tuacahn production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1984 musical spectacle Starlight Express,  which requires actors to wear rollerskates, marks the first regional mounting of the train-themed musical in the U.S.

Tuacahn promises "spectacular sets, lights, pyrotechnics, and 3DS special effects." Louanne Madorma, who was the associate director-choreographer on a Las Vegas production of Starlight Express, will stage the production.
