The title characters from Jesus and Mandy

BC Productions presents the piece, written by Robin Carrigan and Eric Bernat. Chuck Blasius directs a five actor cast that features the authors in the title roles (they also choreograph it), with Michele O. Medlin, Heather Culton and Eric Hoisington. According to production notes, "Jesus and Mandy follows the adventures of a recently deceased, plucky pre teen and her imaginary friends who encounter a gloomy Jesus in the afterlife. Set in an orphan's hospital room in the bubblegum '70s, Mandy and her playmates celebrate the power of play and dance, and endeavor to restore Jesus' damaged self-esteem and turn his frown upside down."

Carrigan wrote and appeared in Off-Off-Broadway's Blood Orgy of the Carnival Queens. Bernat appeared in Off-Broadway's Party and his own work, Starstruck, directed by David Drake.

Director Blasius is the co-artistic director of Other Side Productions and has staged his own play, We Were There and Peter Mercurio's Andrew Reaches the Other Side.

All tickets are $15. Jesus and Mandy plays The Studio at the Cherry Lane Theatre at 30 Commerce Street. For information, call (212) 279-4488 or visit www.fringenyc.org.
