News Primary Stages Presents "Fresh Ink!" Readings of Jordan, Wellman and Sanchez Works Primary Stages will present three new commissioned plays by Julia Jordan, Mac Wellman and Edwin Sanchez at its Off-Broadway home at 59E59 Theaters, Oct. 4-15.

The works are part of Fresh Ink!, a new writers reading series. All three works will each have one afternoon reading (3 PM) at 59E59. The three commissioned plays are Dark Yellow by Julia Jordan, School For Devils by Mac Wellman and This Can’t Be Love by Edwin Sanchez.

Jordan's Boy was part of this Primary Stages season. Other works of the scribe to see New York stages this season include St. Scarlet (The Ontological), Summer of the Swans (Lucille Lortel) and Tatjana in Color (45 Bleecker Street Theatre). Tyler Marchant will direct her piece Oct. 4.

Absurdist Wellman's Second-Hand Smoke and The Hyacinth Macaw were previously presented by Primary Stages. He has also penned Cellophane; Bitter Bierce or, The Friction We Call Grief; Anything's Dream; Cat's Paw and Jennie Richie. Ken Russ Schmoll directs his latest work Oct. 8.  

The Off-Broadway troupe have also staged Sanchez's Barefoot Boy with Shoes On. The author's other works include Diosa, Clean, Unmerciful Good Fortune, Icarus and Trafficking in Broken Hearts. His new work will be directed by Donna Jean Fogel, Oct. 15.
