Classic Arts News Prize-Winning Cliburn Performances Released on Harmonia Mundi CDs The record label Harmonia Mundi released recordings of the prize-winning performances from the 12 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition on October 11.
The three CDs feature the performances of Alexander Kobrin, who won the gold medal, playing works by Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Chopin; silver medal-winner Joyce Yang playing Bach, Liszt, Scarlatti, and Carl Vine; and Sa Chen, who won the third-place Crystal Award, playing Chopin, Ravel, Currier, Liszt, and Stravinsky.

This year's competition took place May 20-June 5 in Fort Worth, Texas. In the Heart of Music, a documentary film about the competition, aired earlier this month on PBS.
