Farewell to Broadway producer and general manager Irving Schneider, 80, who died Oct. 30 of Parkinson's Disease. According to his spokesperson, Schneider started his career in producer Sam Harris' office and became assistant stage manager on the George S. Kaufman/Moss Hart comedy, Merrily We Roll Along. Schneider later served as associate producer and general manager with Irene Mayer Selznick (1946-62) on such shows as A Streetcar Named Desire, Bell Book & Candle, The Chalk Garden and Flight Into Egypt.

After marrying George S. Kaufman's daughter Anne in 1960, Schneider and his wife co-managed the playwright's theatrical works.
