Prudence Farrow, Mia's sister, will read excerpts from Dan Carbone's one man show, Up From the Ground, at the Westbeth Theatre May 23, 24 and 27. John Sowle directs.
Carbone's strange "Twilight Zone"-ish piece made an impression at the 1998 San Francisco Fringe Festival last September where it was judged "Best of the Fest." A conglomeration of various weird tales involving childhood dreams, the dark place under the stairs, strange things growing in a Southern family's cornfield and a lost space-monkey, Ground was written and performed by Carbone.
Farrow, the daughter of actress Maureen O'Sullivan and director John Farrow, made her feature film debut in "Widow's Peak" with sister Mia, Closer's Natasha Richardson and Joan Plowright. She is currently at work on a new film, "Canvas" with director Bruce Beresford.
The Westbeth readings are by invite only.
