New York Theatre Workshop presents the premiere of a new work Bexley, OH(!), or, Two Tales of One City written and performed by Prudence Wright Holmes. The production begins Feb. 20 at their downtown space.

Set to open March 10 for a limited run, Bexley, OH(!) is directed by Lisa Peterson.

Bexley, OH(!) or, Two Tales of One City is the first two stories in a collection Holmes is writing about her old stomping grounds in Ohio. The works follow the author and the smalltown America through the '50s and '60s. Her parents are the focus of the two separate stories. Dr. Sam Is Under Your Bed centers on her father's obsession with the Dr. Dam Sheppard 1954 murder (the basis for "The Fugitive.") In The African Violet Society, Holmes spotlights her mother and her dealings with the town's exclusive ladies club.

As an actress Holmes has appeared in both "Sister Act" films, "Kingpin" and "In Dreams." On stage, she was featured on Broadway in Inherit The Wind, Lettice And Lovage and Happy End. Her Off-Broadway credits include Godspell and Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You.
