After New York's grinding heat wave blacked out PS 122 for a few nights a couple weeks ago, performances for both productions You Are Now Entering Nellie Oleson and Squonk's Bigsmorgasbordwunderwerk were canceled. Power was eventually restores to New York's legendary home of performance art and experimental theatre, and Squonk's production is currently enjoying its second extension, now playing through August 1. The Pittsburgh-based Squonk was founded in 1992 as Squonk Opera, and has toured the U.S. and Canada extensively. Bigsmorgasbordwunderwerk is described as a mixture of performance art, opera, puppetry and food.
