News Puckett Sings Sondheim, Bernstein, Yeston and More Mondays in February at NYC's Duplex Tenor Christopher Puckett continues his Monday night February gig, Pretty Simple Things, at The Duplex Cabaret Theater in Greenwich Village.

The cabaret show offers songs exploring "the importance of simplicity amidst the chaos of the urban jungle." After a successful Duplex run in November 2003, Puckett is back with material ranging in style and energy.

Drawing on his background in musical theatre and opera (including with the Metropolitan Opera Company), Puckett sings the work of Sondheim, Bernstein, John Bucchino, Craig Carnelia, Janis Ian, Rodgers & Hart, William Finn, Jason Robert Brown, Maury Yeston and Rick Jensen.

The show is musical directed by Mark Hartman. Natalie Douglas directs.

An earlier Puckett show, Connecting Flights, played Don't Tell Mama in 2000. Seasonally Affected played The Duplex in 2002.

North Carolina native and current New Yorker Puckett released a CD, "The Promise of Happiness," in 2003. Performances of Pretty Simple Things are 9:30 PM Mondays in February. Remaining shows are Feb. 16 & 23.

Admission is $15 cover, with two drink minimum. MAC and Equity members get in for $5. The Duplex is at 61 Christopher Street at the corner of Seventh Avenue South & Christopher Street.
