An Alley representative confirmed the news to Playbill.com, which was announced to Alley Theatre patrons. The Medusa Body, which Joseph is currently writing, will play the Neuhaus Stage in the coming season. The 2010-2011 Alley season has not been announced. The Alley most recently staged the world premiere of Joseph's Gruesome Playground Injuries, starring Selma Blair and Brad Fleischer, in October 2009.

Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo was among the three plays nominated for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize. The Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles is currently presenting an encore run of the play, which it premiered last spring under the direction of Moisés Kaufman. Joseph's plays also include Animals Out of Paper, The Leopard and the Fox, Huck & Holden and All This Intimacy. He is the recipient of the 2009 Paula Vogel Award.
