Following earlier performances at La MaMa and Brooklyn's BRIC Arts, Qwalee Summers' ball culture play Le Blanc kicks off a limited engagement at the Pit Loft June 22. The new work shines a light on New York City's Black-Latino ballroom scene while exploring race and sexuality alongside America's judicial, healthcare, and law enforcement systems.

Le Blanc weaves music, art installation, and dance to tell the rags-to-riches story of a world-famous dancer and choreographer—from his early struggles caught up in California's foster care-adoption system, to his underground rise to notoriety as a member of the House of Le Blanc.

Le Blanc, directed by Summers with co-direction by LisaRoxanne Walters, will run through August 6 at the Pit Loft, 154 West 29th Street in Manhattan.

The cast is made up of playwright and director Summers and Walters, Nick Dorvil, Alex J. Pires, Terrence McCleveland, Onkar Singh Dhindsa, Breezy Leigh, and Stephanie Uttro.

Le Blanc features choreography by Guerdley Cajus and lighting and sound by Clinton Jones.
