On May 17 Bean will begin another stint as the busybody reporter, playing through July 18. Bean will replace D. Sabella, Chicago's current Mary Sunshine. Bean made his Broadway debut in Chicago and recently played the role of Mary Sunshine in the national tour of the hit Kander and Ebb musical.

The Chicago company currently stars Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Pia Douwes as Velma Kelly, P. J. Benjamin as Amos Hart, Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton and Tom Wopat as Billy Flynn. Brenda Braxton returns as Velma Kelly May 16.

Chicago won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

The Ambassador Theatre is located at 215 West 49th Street.
