The DVD and Blu-ray Disc include audio commentary with the director, writer and director of photography as well as deleted scenes.

Academy Award winners and stage veterans Nicole Kidman and Dianne Weist star in the film, which also features Aaron Eckhart, Tammy Blanchard and Sandra Oh. John Cameron Mitchell, of the stage and film versions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, directs.

Lindsay-Abaire, currently represented on Broadway with his new play Good People,  also wrote the film's screenplay.

The play Rabbit Hole premiered in a Manhattan Theatre Club production Feb. 2, 2006, at the Biltmore Theatre. Cynthia Nixon won a Tony Award as the mother of the dead child. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, the production also starred John Slattery, Tyne Daly, Mary Catherine Garrison and John Gallagher, Jr.

"Rabbit Hole," according to press notes, is a "vivid, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly witty portrait of a family searching for what remains possible in the most impossible of all situations. Becca (Kidman) and Howie (Eckhart) are returning to their everyday existence in the wake of a shocking, sudden loss. Just eight months ago, they were a happy suburban family with everything they wanted. Now, they are posing as normal; blindly looking for footing in a sea of new emotions. This is the remarkably moving journey of a couple finding their way back to love."

The DVD has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
