News Rachel York to Star in Summer of '42 Concert at York; CD to Follow Rachel York, currently Off-Broadway in Dessa Rose, and Ryan Driscoll will head the cast of a benefit concert of Summer of '42 for the York Theatre Company.

The May 23 concert — directed by Gabriel Barre — will be held at the York's home at Saint Peter's in the Citigroup Center. The cast of the one-night-only event will also feature the talents of Celia Keenan-Bolger, Megan Valerie Walker, Danielle Ferland, Brett Tabisel, Joe Gallagher, Ayal Miodovnik and Bill Buell. Summer of '42 features a score by David Kirshenbaum and a libretto by Hunter Foster. The musical, according to production notes, "tells the story of a young boy during World War II who falls in love with the wife of a soldier who has shipped out overseas."

The musical will then be recorded by JAY Records on May 24 and will be released on two CDs, featuring all underscoring and dialogue as well as material cut from the show's original Off-Broadway run.

The York Theatre at Saint Peter's in the Citigroup Center is located in Manhattan at 619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street. Tickets priced at $80 include priority seating, a post-show reception with the cast and a choice of York cast albums. Show-only tickets are priced at $50.
