Tony-winning director Frank Galati will chat about his career on the Chicago-based arts program "Arts Chicago." The program will air Nov. 18 at 7:30 PM on WTTW Channel 11, and again on Nov. 22 at 12:30 PM and 11 PM. Galati is a member of Chicago's two preeminent theatre troupes, the Goodman Theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Recently, he staged the Chicago version of the musical Ragtime at the Windy City's newly refurbished Oriental Theatre. He also mounted the currently running Broadway production of the Livent musical and was nominated for a Tony for his efforts. He won the Tony in 1990 for his direction of The Grapes of Wrath, a Steppenwolf production.
As part of the same episode, "Artbeat" will take a look at the newly restored Oriental Theatre and interview its architect, Dan Coffey.
