News Ralph Fiennes, Jeremy Irvine, Sally Hawkins Cast in David Nicholls' "Great Expectations" Film Adaptation Tony Award winner Ralph Fiennes (Hamlet, Faith Healer), Jeremy Irvine ("War Horse") and Sally Hawkins (Mrs. Warren's Profession) are among the cast of David Nicholls' screen adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, directed by Mike Newell, will star Irvine as Pip and also includes Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Walliams and Holliday Grainger.

"Great Expectations," scheduled to begin shooting Oct. 10 in the U.K., centers around a young orphan, Pip, who has been given a large fortune by a secret benefactor.

The film is produced by Stephen Woolley, Elizabeth Karlsen and David Faigenblum. Zygi Kamasa will be executive producer.
