London's The Old Vic has revealed performance dates for its previously announced production of Oedipus, to be led by Academy Award winner Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Olivier winner Indira Varma (Present Laughter).

Performances will run January 21-March 29, 2025, with opening night set for February 4. Tickets will go on sale beginning 10 AM GMT April 11.

Ella Hickson has penned a new adaptation of the Sophocles tragedy, commissioned by the London theatre in 2019. Old Vic Artistic Director Matthew Warchus is collaborating with choreographer Hofesh Shechter (Fiddler on the Roof) on the production, with both serving as co-directors. The revival is being presented by The Old Vic in association with Hofesh Shechter Company. Additional casting and creative team members are to be announced.

The classic tale follows King Oedipus, tasked by his subjects to avenge the murder of the old King Laius in hopes that it will fulfill an oracle's prophecy.

The Old Vic production will come on the heels of another major London revival of the work, written and directed by Robert Icke and playing the Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End later this year. Mark Strong and Lesley Manville are scheduled to lead that production.
