Raquel Welch had her official press opening in the title roles of Broadway's Victor/Victoria, June 26.

She took over the role from Julie Andrews starting June 10. Andrews, 61, had given more than 600 performances in the show, about a woman playing a man playing a woman.

Welch is best known for her film roles in One Million Years B.C., Myra Breckenridge, Mother, Jugs & Speed and The Wild Party. She appeared on Broadway in 1981's Woman Of The Year, taking over for Lauren Bacall.

Appearing with Welch in Vic/Vic will be Tony Roberts, Tara O'Brien (Norma) and Michael Nouri (King Marchan). The show, directed by Blake Edwards, has a book by Edwards and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, with music by the late Henry Mancini, augmented by Frank Wildhorn (who worked with Bricusse on Jekyll & Hyde).

For tickets and information on Victor/Victoria call (212) 307-4100.
