Children, a rarely done A.R. Gurney play (which he adapted from a John Cheever story), will be revived in a Pacific Resident Theatre production July 8. The run is through Aug. 15.Children has not been performed in Los Angeles in the last fifteen years. The PRT cast includes Judith Montgomery, Catherine Telford, Robin Becker and Bob Jacobs. The story takes place in the summer on a resort island off the New England coast and focuses on a well-to-do family whose idyllic life becomes threatened by two jarring events.

Gurney's previous plays include The Dining Room, The Cocktail Hour, Sylvia and Love Letters. He teaches drama at MIT.

Children is directed by Joe Oliveri.
