PlayBlog Rare Look at Liza Minnelli's 19th Birthday and Flora Rehearsals On March 12 Tony and Academy Award-winning entertainer Liza Minnelli celebrates her 65th birthday and Life Magazine is releasing never-before-seen photographs taken in 1965 when the then 19-year-old actress was rehearsing for her Broadway debut in the Kander and Ebb musical Flora the Red Menace.


The series of 16 images were photographed by Bill Eppridge, but only one of the images was actually used in the original story. The photos capture Minnelli alongside her then fiancé Peter Allen, as well as members of the Flora creative team including co-star Bob Dishy, choreographer Lee Theodore, Hal Prince and George Abbott.
