News Rattlestick Opens World Premiere of Lucy Thurber's Stay March 19 The world premiere of Lucy Thurber's Stay officially opens March 19 at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

Jackson Gay directs the new work, which closes out the downtown company's season. Previews of Stay began March 11; the limited engagement will run through April 15.

Jenny Maguire (Anon, Acts of Mercy), Sam Rosen (Ham Lake), Thomas Sadoski (Reckless, Where We're Born), Maggie Siff (Frank's Place, The Ruby Sunrise) and Jesse Weixler (2007 Sundance Special Jury Acting Award winner for "Teeth") comprise the ensemble.

In Thurber's Stay "a young writer, in the darkest moments of her youth, discovered an angel," according to a show synopsis. "Having achieved great success, she must now learn to let go of this beautiful gift, all the while struggling to define and accept herself in the absence of this muse and savior."

The design team features Erik Flatmo (sets), Scott Bolman (lights), Jenny Mannis (costumes) and Daniel Baker (sound). Aaron Meicht provides original music. Christina Rowe serves as production stage manager.

Thurber's Where We're Born (2003) and Killers and Other Family (2001) have played on the Rattlestick stage. Other works include Ashville, Scarcity, Bottom of The World and Monstrosity. Director Gay's credits include Fuck You, Eu.ro.Pa!; Don't Stop, Master Disaster, West of the 5 and the Pulitzer Prize finalist The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow.
