Performances are now underway at London's National Theatre for the revival of Rodney Ackland’s post-war drama, Absolute Hell. Joe Hill-Gibbins (Edward II) returns to NT directing a cast of 28.
Absolute Hell takes place in a Soho den in the wake of World War II. Its members drink into the darkness, night after night, lying, fighting and seducing in the face of an unknown future.
The cast is made up of Esh Alladi, Elizabeth Andrewartha, Ashley Byam, Jonathan Coote, Rachel Dale, Carole Dance, Joanna David, Charles Edwards, Patricia England, Kate Fleetwood, Jenny Galloway, Frazer Hadfield, Aaron Heffernan, Simon Hepworth, Lloyd Hutchinson, Martins Imhangbe, Stephanie Jacob, Fiz Marcus, Sinéad Matthews, Connor Mills, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Anita Reynolds, John Sackville, Liza Sadovy, Jonathan Slinger, Eileen Walsh, Danny Webb, and Jade Yourell.
Performances continue through June 16 in NT's Lyttelton Theatre. Read reviews for the production below:
