The Encores! Off-Center production of Gone Missing kicked off its two-night-only engagement July 11 at New York City Center. The musical is presented in honor of its late composer and former Off-Center Artistic Director Michael Friedman.

Ken Rus Schmoll directs the production of the show, which musicalizes a series of interviews conducted by New York City theatre troupe The Civilians regarding objects people had lost in their lives and how they coped. The piece was written and originally directed by Civilians Founding Artistic Director Steve Cosson.

The cast for the new production features John Behlmann, Susan Blackwell, Aysan Celik, Deborah S. Craig, Taylor Mac, and David Ryan Smith. Karla Garcia choreographs; Chris Fenwick serves as music director.

Gone Missing continues through July 12. Rounding out the Off-Center 2018 season will be Micki Grant and Vinnette Carroll’s Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, running July 25–28.
