News Reading of Consent, New Play About Bullying, Set for Feb. 4 The Dramatists Guild Friday Night Footlights Series will continue Feb. 4 at 7:30 PM with a reading of Frank J. Avella's Consent.

The 75-minute reading will feature the talents of Matthew Crooks, Christine E. Dow, Liza Harris and Alexander Haynes.

Consent, according to production notes, "examines the many types of bullying certain teens face, both obvious and subtle. The work focuses on a troubled sixteen-year old trying to come to terms with his sexuality in the face of ridicule and prejudice. The play explores the responsibilities we all have to communicate with our youth and teach our children to celebrate their differences instead of denigrating them. [The play] also warns against taking advantage of the trust teens place in the adults they look up to."

Frank J. Avella is also the author of Vatican Falls.

The reading will take place at The Dramatists Guild in the Frederick Loewe Room, 1501 Broadway (off 44th Street), Suite 710.
