Going Hollywood is adapted from Kaufman and Hart's 1930 Broadway comedy Once in a Lifetime, which marked their first collaboration.

The musical is by Joe Leonardo and Tony Award winner David Zippel (lyricist and co-librettist) and Jonathan Sheffer (composer).

Going Hollywood's cast includes Vicki Lewis (Damn Yankees, Chicago), Adam Wylie (Wicked, Into the Woods), Anneliese van der Pol (Beauty and the Beast, Vanities) and Tim Martin Gleason (The Phantom of the Opera). Leonardo directs.

"We've been eager to present Going Hollywood for some time," Festival co-executive producer Marcia Seligson said in a previous statement. "This is the West Coast premiere of one of the marvelous hidden treasures of musical theatre."

The creation of Once in a Lifetime is the subject of Hart's memoir, "Act One," which has been adapted into a play written and directed by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine. Act One begins performances March 20 on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

The reading is free, and reservations can be made by e-mailing at [email protected].
