News Reading of The Family, with Cuccioli, Morrison, Allen and Morgan, Presented Oct. 7 A by-invitation-only staged reading of The Family — A Musical Play About the Mob will be presented Oct. 7 at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan.

Directed by Tony Stevens, the 6:30 PM reading will feature the talents of Robert Cuccioli (as Joe Barros), Ann Morrison (Claire Barros), Glenn Seven Allen (Renaldo), Bill Nolte (Don Marco), Cristina Fontanelli (Queen), Marry Illes (Flight Attendant), Peter Gosik (Pietro), Michael Farina (Capo), Larry Kaye (Red Kelly), Steven Ranazzo (Mazzarone), Kim Morgan (Coumada), Rachel Brown (Coumada), Rachel Resheff (Emily Barros) and Tom Bozell (Narrator). Dennis Buck is musical director. The Family — A Musical Play About the Mob features a book by Arlene Violet and music and lyrics by Enrico Garzilli. The musical, according to press notes, is "based on the true story of the prosecution of the Mob in Providence, Rhode Island. The story pits two informants (Cuccioli, Farina) who go into the witness protection program to save themselves from punishment. These former 'family members' agree to testify against Don Marco (Nolte). The Don's real son (Allen) is loyal to him although his father scorns him for his failure to become a mob family member and his suspected gay orientation. The Godfather learns too late who is really a loyal son as he settles into his own uneasy relationship with his mob family."

The Metropolitan Club is located in Manhattan at 1 East 60th Street.
