News Readings of New Musical The Water Dream to Feature Karmine Alers, Adam Kern and More Staged readings of the new musical The Water Dream will be presented May 16 and 17 at Shetler Studios in Manhattan.

The 8 PM readings will feature the talents of Shawn Cody, Karmine Alers, Erik Lochtefeld, Robert Walsh, Darcie Bender, Adam Kern, Roger Stewart, Robert Najarian, Doug Chapman, Noel Joseph Allain, Joelle Lurie and Mark Weekes. The Water Dream features book, music and lyrics by Shawn Cody. The creative team also includes director David B. Jaffe, associate director Alexandra Bassett, music director Emily Otto and arranger Bill Barclay.

The new musical, according to press notes, concerns "a critical mythologist who, through confronting his demons, evolves into the imaginative author of his own original mythology - as if Jung transformed into Tolkien. A giant glass tank of real water is the show's center piece, where actors and huge puppets swim and perform. Combining a visit to the aquarium and a Broadway show, it will transport the audience to an unbelievably beautiful world."

Shetler Studios Penthouse One is located in Manhattan at 244 West 54th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. To reserve free seats, e-mail [email protected].
