News Readings of Pageant, With Tony Sheldon, David Turner, Tyler Maynard, Presented May 1 Industry readings of the Off-Broadway musical Pageant will be presented May 1 in Manhattan.

Directed by Christopher Gattelli, the cast comprises Tom Deckman (Spamalot), Jeff Hiller (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Silence!), Michael James Scott (Book of Mormon), Tyler Maynard (Altar Boyz, Little Mermaid), Constantine Rousouli (Ghost), Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) and David Turner (On a Clear Day, Arcadia, The Ritz).

Pageant, the Musical, which was conceived by Robert Longbottom, has book and lyrics by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly, and music by Albert Evans. The reading features musical direction by Dominick Amendum.

Pageant debuted Off-Broadway in 1991 and has been produced in Australia, London, Los Angeles and other major cities across the USA. "It is like no beauty pageant you’ve seen before," according to press notes. "Six contestants vying for the title of Miss Glamouresse compete in swimsuit, talent, evening gown and spokesmodel. You even get to choose the winner."
