News Real Life Father and Daughter Play Feuding Family Members in US Debut of A Reckoning Wesley Moore's A Reckoning makes its American premiere at San Francisco's Magic Theatre with a real-life father-daughter team acting out the onstage family drama.

Previews begin Feb. 26 for the work staged by original London director Richard Seyd. The drama is set to open March 5 in the Sam Shepard Theatre space and perform through March 27.

A Reckoning pits a daughter against her father following her mother's death in a confrontation that may destroy them both. Real-life father and daughter Kevin Tighe (Open Admissions, "What's Eating Gilbert Grape") and Jennifer Tighe (Collected Stories, Closer) star as the raging relatives.

Jonathan Pryce starred opposite and Flora Montgomery in the world premiere of the work at the Soho Theatre in March 2003.

San Francisco playwright Moore's works also include Departure and Swim Visit — both were produced at London's Donmar Warehouse Theatre — as well as Finder's Fee and Moguls. His screen work includes adapting "Rocket to the Moon" and the screenplay for "Apprentice to Murder."

Seyd has previously directed Noises Off (San Jose Repertory) and A Feast of Fools (La Jolla Playhouse). Other credits include Dinner with Friends, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Collected Stories, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and A View From the Bridge at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. He served as Associate Artistic Director of San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater (1992 97), where he staged The Learned Ladies, The Pope and The Witch, Pygmalion, Mrs. Warren's Profession, Oleanna, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Othello, The Matchmaker and A Streetcar Named Desire. Magic Theatre's 2004-2005 season will conclude with "Hot House" featuring three world premieres in rotating repertory, April-June. The shows include 3F, 4F by Victor Lodato, The Black Eyed by Betty Shamieh and The Rules of Charity by John Belluso.
