REDONDO BEACH, CA -- A holiday production of Meet Me in St. Louis will close Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities' 1998 season. The musical, with book by Sally Benson; songs by Hugh Martin & Ralph Blane, will play Dec. 1-Dec. 13 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
The production is directed and choreographed by CLO veteran Jon Engstrom and features Joe Ross, Doug Carfrae, Lynne Marta and Julie Gunner.
Meet Me in St. Louis is based on the MGM movie classic which starred Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien, and offers such numbers as "The Trolley Song," "The Boy Next Door" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." It was produced on Broadway in Nov., 1989 starring George Hearn, Milo O'Shea and Betty Garrett.
