Erica Schmidt (Humor Abuse, Invasion!) will direct the play that officially opens Nov. 19.
Birney (Picnic, Blasted, Our Leading Lady) and Colin (The Columnist, "Gossip Girl") will be joined by Kristen Bush (Kin, The Common Pursuit) and Tony nominee Amelia Campbell (A Streetcar Named Desire, Our Country's Good).
Here's how MTC bills the work: "An unspeakable tragedy. A shattered family. An accusation of murder. Taking Care of Baby is a provocative new drama that boldly explores the elusive nature of truth and the depths we'll go to expose it."
The creative team includes Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), David Weiner (lighting design) and Fitz Patton (sound design).
Kelly's work also includes Debris, Osama the Hero, After the End, Love and Money, DNA, Orphans and The Gods Weep. Kelly wrote and co-produced "Utopia" and co-wrote the award-winning comedy series "Pulling."
Tickets will go on sale Sept. 30 via CityTix at (212) 581-1212, at nycitycenter.org, and at the New York City Center Box Office, 131 W. 55th Street.
