News Reese Witherspoon Thinks World Is Ready for "Legally Blonde 3" Reese Witherspoon, who starred as sorority girl turned lawyer and animal rights activist Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde" and "Legally Blonde 2," thinks the world might be ready for a third installment of "Legally Blonde."

Witherspoon appeared on Lifetime's "Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe" Oct. 22. While on the program, Witherspoon discussed the possibility of a "Legally Blonde 3" in which Elle Woods would run for president.

Witherspoon said, "A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it. I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office. I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately."

Legally Blonde was adapted as a musical in 2007. Laura Bell Bundy starred as Elle Woods with Christian Borle as Emmett, Orfeh as Paulette and Richard H. Blake as Warner Huntington III. Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford made her Broadway debut in the show as Margot, one of Elle's sorority sisters.
