Carney, who will star as Peter Parker in the $50-million musical directed by Julie Taymor, will debut the song at the Hudson Theater, where "GMA" will broadcast the performance live during the 8-9 AM hour. He will be backed by his band.

In addition to catching the song on television, the public is also invited to be part of the live audience. Representatives are keeping the title of the song a secret until its national television debut.

"GMA" states that fans should arrive by 6:30 AM at the Hudson Theater if they wish to be part of the live audience. The Hudson Theater is located at 145 West 44th Street within the Millennium Broadway hotel.

Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark will begin Broadway previews Nov. 14 at the Foxwoods Theatre (formerly the Hilton Theatre) and will officially open Dec. 21. Taymor (The Lion King) directs the production that will also feature Tony Award nominee Jennifer Damiano (Next to Normal) as Mary Jane Watson and Broadway veteran Patrick Page (The Grinch) as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin.

Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark features a book by Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge. "Drawing from more than 40 years of Marvel comic books for inspiration," Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, according to press notes, "spins a new take on the mythic tale of Peter Parker, a teenager whose unremarkable life in Queens is turned upside-down—literally—when he's bitten by a genetically-altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to the ceiling. Bullied by his classmates and tortured by an unrelenting crush on next-door-neighbor Mary Jane Watson, this science geek discovers he has suddenly been endowed with astonishing powers. He soon learns, however, that with great power comes great responsibility. Maligned by the media, buffeted by financial woes, and stretched thin by the expectations of the world-at-large, Peter now must struggle to navigate the perilous and peculiar demands of being a web-slinging superhero."
