News Relativity Reading to Feature Lisa Brescia, Emma Hunton and More Kef theatrical productions will present a by-invitation-only staged reading of the new musical Relativity May 23 in the Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row.

The 3 PM reading will feature the talents of Lisa Brescia (Ordinary Days, Wicked), Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening), Joel Ingram (The Lyric's Tommy) and Kilty Reidy (The Drowsy Chaperone).  John Simpkins directs.

Relativity features book and lyrics by Michael Ruby and music and lyrics by Robert Rokicki.

The new musical "tells the story of the Ackermans, a middle-class American family falling apart at the seems, second by second by second: Peter (Reidy), the hard-working father, Melissa (Brescia) the 'mama bird' of an emptying nest, Derek (Ingram) the star quarterback and Reagan (Hunton) the misfit daughter. [The musical] explores the concept of time – an hour of therapy, a football game's two-minute warning, a long-distance relationship complicated by time zones, the three o'clock bell – as the Ackerman family races against the clock to pull it all back together."

The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row is located in Manhattan at 410 West 42nd Street.
