The Netherlands' equivalent of the Tony Awards, the John Kraaijkamp Musical Theatre Awards, has announced its 2001 slate of nominations, with winners to be chosen at an April 20 televised gala. Jonathan Larson's American musical Rent is the nomination leader with five.
The awards cover musicals only, yet there's no "Best Musical" award, since the public votes (through Kampioen magazine) and can choose from all 17 eligible tuners.
